Room 22 Assembly....Extended!!

Recently our class created and performed the assembly that the school will never forget!

The class came up the idea of a TV Show that included:

• Couch Potatoes
• Room 22's Got Talent - French horn (Aregee999) & The Dance Crew Girls
• Super Scientists
• Bunny News
• Talent Judges
• Anzac Reporters
• Fabulous Hosts

Our show was spectacular!!!!

Then.........3 armed robbers, robbed the ASB not far from school and the police insisted we LOCKDOWN!!!! Never before scenes of armed police came into our school to protect us.

Trapped inside a hall....without food....without play....without water....we sung, read stories, watched youtube and tried to laugh a lot.

Then we were released to our parents/caregivers with relief on all our faces!!

Vivid Vocab - part of room 22's morning routine

Most mornings, room 22 explores new vocabulary during Vivid Vocab.

We spend 10-15 minutes finding the definition, synonyms and we all create a powerful sentence.

Our word this morning: JOVIAL

Extreme Edge & Lagoon Leisure

Friday at Outdoor Education was full of challenge and high flying.

We started at Extreme Edge where we scaled the climbing walls and then headed to Lagoon Leisure for a chilly, yet relaxing dip in the pool.

Cascades - Bush Walk (Waitakere Ranges)

Thursday was a great day at Outdoor Education.

We went for a great bush walk and identified various native plants and tress as we went.
Eagerly, the whole of year 5 took part in a variety of team games and also took some time out to sketch the landscape.

Having a BLAST @ Outdoor Education

We have had our first day at Outdoor Education.....and wow what a BLAST!!!

Canterbury Earthquake Appeal

Room 22 successfully assisted in raising.....

$2292.30

....from all the fabulous donation the children of ROPS bought along to help the people of Christchurch after the devastating earthquake they expereineced on the 22nd Febuary.

We had an excellent time creating sandwich boards and going round to remind all the students and teachers about the Red & Black mufti day on Friday.

Class Updates

We have a lot of things going on in room 22 and throughout the senior team at the moment.
It is important to remember to:

• Bring a change of clothes for Friday sports
• Outdoor Education is coming up in week 7 (all notices due in now)
• Mathletics payments

In our class we have been getting a lot done. We have started our maths groups, writing and reading programmes. Also, we have been making Mimio Quizzes and finding out about the Royal Oak Learning Pathway.

Coming up.....we are going to be starting the Reflective Journals. The children will be adding to and working with these throughout the daily programme. These will include our achievements in learning, goal setting, communicating our learning and identifying our strengths and next steps in learning.
